Squirrel

Look at the squirrel, he was on top of the pelican busy eating the accorn.....snapping me!

Lumbar Fusion

Look at how biotechnology can do to mankind. Way back in the 80s, it took 6 weeks to stay in the hospital for this procedure. But now, it is an outpatient procedure. Jimmy was signed in at 8:30am in Dr. Bishop's surgery center. He was rolled in to the operating room at 9:30. Dr. Bishop took 1 of his vertibrates out and replaced it with a cadaver disc. Then he fused them together using titanium screws and rods to hold the spine in position so that there is no longer any motion between them. He was discharged when he was able to stand up and walk to the rest room at 1:30. He started walking after he got home. Thank you for all your prayers. God is good all the time. He will be back in Savannah after 3 weeks.

This was the exact place that Jimmy asked me to marry him five years ago.

Marley & Me

Preparation

Jimmy had his pre-operative procedure today. He had his blood work done and EKG. Last Saturday, a medical technician came in to Mom's house. He brought a bone growth stimulator belt Jimmy has to wear after surgery, at most 4 hours a day. Its function is to help fuse his bones faster.

We are having a relaxing time here in Savannah. The weather is on the 30's early morning and late at night. The fun part is food and shopping. Mom cooked good food and Jimmy cooked once. I'm so blessed with a good mother-in-law and a good husband.

Winter

Today at 7:20am officially marks the first day of winter, but we still do not feel winter. The weather was warm a couple days ago. Whereas in northwest where my favorite pooch lives, the snow is pouring and almost reach to his shoulder.
My bronchitis is feeling better now. I still have 9 more days of antiobiotic to take. Hopefully by the time Jimmy has his surgery I'm completely well. Otherwise, my mother-in-law has to take care of us. :)

Long winding road

I'm down with sore throat, congested nose and sinus. Jimmy wanted to put off our trip to Savanah but I declined. He wanted me to see a doctor, so we went to the urgent care. I have bronchitis according to the prognosis. I had my antibiotic shot and prescriptions. On our way to the pharmacy, we heard clucking sound coming from behind. We stopped, got off the car and checked...oopps....flat tire. Look at how cute our spare tire was. We were glad that this happened before we are in interstate. Good things happen when you least expect them.

Bonus

Today marks the last day of first semester in school. We begin our Christmas break tomorrow until Jan. 6, 2009. I had worked hard and never been late nor absent. Thank God for giving me good health and the reward I've received is I'm $200 richer before tax. :(

We will be heading to Savannah tomorrow for the Christmas season until new year.

Golden Girl

Today is not only payday but also marks the 50th birthday of my dear ole friend Karen. Look at you then and now; you haven't changed much. I missed your surprise party but I'm glad I'm part of your life, whether you like it or not, haha. Happy Birthday, Tita K.

The Chef

Since Jimmy retired, he has been the chef in the kitchen, planning the menu for the week and cooking every dinner. I, on the other hand, do my cross stitch after work and I don't even act as his sous chef. I'm a taster and a dishwasher. How cool is that!

The story of ....

This is a nice website. Just click on http://www.storyofstuff.com/. When we went to the flea market last Saturday, I was tempted to buy some stuff but this website reminded me to live simply, so I ended up empty-handed.

The Fall

The color of the trees was so gorgeous, I could not resist taking these photos while we were on I95 going to Jacksonville, Florida.

Happy Birthday K

I finally created a blog. My neighbor Debbie inspired me to do it, but she now lives in Oregon. I think it will be great to let my family and friends on the other side of the globe know what we are doing here in Georgia. First of all, I want to greet my good friend Karen. Happy 50th Birthday. I tried to upload a video to her at Yahoo, but it took forever. I did it here... hurray... I don't need to mail this through UPS. It saved me money, haha.

Happy Birthday J

Today marks my hubby's 55th birthday and at the same time his retirement from civil service of 32 years 11 months & 3 days, to be exact. He had worked so hard through the years and now he is suffering from back pain. By the grace of God, he will be scheduled for lumbar fusion in Savannah by Dr. Bishop on Dec. 30th.

Bug Eating Plant

I saw this kind of a plant when I was in Sagada, Philippines. It was called Pitcher plant. According to my tourist guide you can drink its juice before the top comes off.

After I flew back to Georgia, I ran into a booth that sells this. The seller called it Bug Eating Plant. Out of curiousity I bought a small one and hung it in the back of our flower bed. It really lives up to its name. The gnats were out while I was weeding. It was amazing.
