Good Night

Last night was a good night for Jimmy, of course with the help of AmbienceCR. He woke up feeling good. I can even squeezed his left foot. But we can never tell, sometimes he has good days and sometimes not. I'm leaving on Monday to go back to work on Tuesday. Jimmy is staying in Savannah until his second doctor appointment on Feb. 4. His mom will take him to the doctor then.

Getting Harder!

It's been 12 days after Jimmy operation. His left leg is killing him, from his ankle to the foot is throbbing constantly. It has became very sensitive. The feeling was like sunburn pain. The pain medication seems not working anymore. He walks lesser each day. His moaning and groaning specially at night woke me up and thus made me tired during the day. It has come to a point that I hate to ask him how he is doing. I hope this is part of healing process and nothing went wrong during the operation. I hope the days go fast till we see the doctor on Friday.

10th Day

Today marks the 10th day of Jimmy's operation. He finally can have a full shower. I took off his inner bandage. The wound looked healing fast, but he had some good days and bad days. The pain usually aggravated in midnight and thus woke me up. Although he didn't mean to disturb my sleep but I can't help not show concern. I'm wound up.

5th Day

One day maybe easier than other day, that's what Jimmy is experiencing right now. But everything is under control, his outer gauze bandage was took off yesterday leaving the inner gauze still on till the 10th day. He had his first shampoo this morning. We went to Fort Pulaski this afternoon. Every morning he has his bone growth stimulator for 4 hours. By and large, he is a very good patient. I have no complaint at all.

Post Operative Progress

I am very please with the progress of Jimmy. At first I thought he will be in excruciating pain after the operation, but I was wrong. His first night was rough but it got better on the second night. He was indeed a good patient and was not hard to take care of. Today he started using his bone growth stimulator. We went to Publix for a short walk. Each day is better than it was.

Squirrel

Look at the squirrel, he was on top of the pelican busy eating the accorn.....snapping me!

Lumbar Fusion

Look at how biotechnology can do to mankind. Way back in the 80s, it took 6 weeks to stay in the hospital for this procedure. But now, it is an outpatient procedure. Jimmy was signed in at 8:30am in Dr. Bishop's surgery center. He was rolled in to the operating room at 9:30. Dr. Bishop took 1 of his vertibrates out and replaced it with a cadaver disc. Then he fused them together using titanium screws and rods to hold the spine in position so that there is no longer any motion between them. He was discharged when he was able to stand up and walk to the rest room at 1:30. He started walking after he got home. Thank you for all your prayers. God is good all the time. He will be back in Savannah after 3 weeks.

Preparation

Jimmy had his pre-operative procedure today. He had his blood work done and EKG. Last Saturday, a medical technician came in to Mom's house. He brought a bone growth stimulator belt Jimmy has to wear after surgery, at most 4 hours a day. Its function is to help fuse his bones faster.

We are having a relaxing time here in Savannah. The weather is on the 30's early morning and late at night. The fun part is food and shopping. Mom cooked good food and Jimmy cooked once. I'm so blessed with a good mother-in-law and a good husband.

Winter

Today at 7:20am officially marks the first day of winter, but we still do not feel winter. The weather was warm a couple days ago. Whereas in northwest where my favorite pooch lives, the snow is pouring and almost reach to his shoulder.
My bronchitis is feeling better now. I still have 9 more days of antiobiotic to take. Hopefully by the time Jimmy has his surgery I'm completely well. Otherwise, my mother-in-law has to take care of us. :)

Long winding road

I'm down with sore throat, congested nose and sinus. Jimmy wanted to put off our trip to Savanah but I declined. He wanted me to see a doctor, so we went to the urgent care. I have bronchitis according to the prognosis. I had my antibiotic shot and prescriptions. On our way to the pharmacy, we heard clucking sound coming from behind. We stopped, got off the car and checked...oopps....flat tire. Look at how cute our spare tire was. We were glad that this happened before we are in interstate. Good things happen when you least expect them.

Bonus

Today marks the last day of first semester in school. We begin our Christmas break tomorrow until Jan. 6, 2009. I had worked hard and never been late nor absent. Thank God for giving me good health and the reward I've received is I'm $200 richer before tax. :(

We will be heading to Savannah tomorrow for the Christmas season until new year.

Golden Girl

Today is not only payday but also marks the 50th birthday of my dear ole friend Karen. Look at you then and now; you haven't changed much. I missed your surprise party but I'm glad I'm part of your life, whether you like it or not, haha. Happy Birthday, Tita K.

The Chef

Since Jimmy retired, he has been the chef in the kitchen, planning the menu for the week and cooking every dinner. I, on the other hand, do my cross stitch after work and I don't even act as his sous chef. I'm a taster and a dishwasher. How cool is that!

The story of ....

This is a nice website. Just click on http://www.storyofstuff.com/. When we went to the flea market last Saturday, I was tempted to buy some stuff but this website reminded me to live simply, so I ended up empty-handed.

The Fall

The color of the trees was so gorgeous, I could not resist taking these photos while we were on I95 going to Jacksonville, Florida.
